Evelin Achermann
Evelin grew up at the edge of the Swiss Alps. Surrounded by nature she early on developed a passion for the outdoors, spending her time hiking and camping. Driven by her sense for adventure and her longing for exploring unfamiliar countries and foreign cultures Evelin has travelled all seven continents. With every journey leaving its mark on her it was the polar regions that started to intrigue her: Fragile environments, vivid history, extraordinary wildlife, and the feeling of only being a guest where harsh nature still has the upper hand.
Evelin has a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism and eventually decided to trade her office work with a job out in the field where every day holds a new adventure. In 2019 she moved to Svalbard to absolve the Arctic Nature Guide education at the University Center of Svalbard. At Basecamp Explorer Evelin guide our guests on various adventures in the Arctic.
