Therese Moe
Adventurous and fearless? Well, Therese and her husband moved to Svalbard in autumn 2022 with five (!) children. It says a lot that this is a lady who dares to challenge the traditional life.
Therese is 35 years old, grew up on the Helgeland coast and is now our front desk manager at Basecamp Hotel. In addition to keeping track of her flock at home, she also ensures that the guests at the trapper’s hotel are greeted with a smile and good service.
– I have been in many different professions so far in my working career, but it is the hotel industry that I am most comfortable in, Therese explains. She also thrives with a piece of knitwear between her hands, and takes every opportunity to knit garments that are both beautiful and warm. You never go wrong with layers of warm wool in the Arctic.
Therese studies sustainability and communication, alongside her job at Basecamp Hotel.
– It is important for me to understand how we humans affect the environment and wildlife, and with studies and an interest in our role in the climate balance, I hope to contribute to us moving towards a positive environmental account, says Therese.
– Life on Svalbard gives me and my family good perspectives, and not least wonderful experiences. I am grateful for that.
