Martin F. Petersen
Martin F. Petersen is our tour and guide leader, with daily visits to the Basecamp Explorers Expedition in Longyearbyen. Here, Martin keeps track of most things related to trips with us. Safety is the first priority, and it means continuous maintenance and clearance of equipment before we send guests out into the wilderness. The tour and guide leader is also responsible for our guides and follows them up before, during and after tours.
Into the job, Martin has extensive experience in emergency preparedness and social security from Denmark (yes, he is Danish), Norway and other places in the world. In addition, Martin has a master’s degree in change management and a bachelor’s degree in international preparedness.
After a number of years in mainland Norway, 38-year-old Martin has moved with his family to Longyearbyen to do even more of his biggest interest: Physical activity in the wilderness. The desire to experience something completely new has been a strong driver, and from experience we can say that Svalbard delivers here.
Quality and safety are fundamental to our expeditions, regardless of length, season and weather conditions. Together with our competent guides, Martin ensures that everyone gets the best possible experience on a trip with us.
