Evelina is 35 years old, and comes from Avesta in Dalarna, Sweden. A political scientist globetrotter with a strong commitment to sustainability and gender equality. Evelina has lived in England and Italy before, but Spitsbergen is at home. After Evelina moved to Svalbard, she has been stationed in Ny-Ålesund and on Isfjord Radio – fantastic outposts, she says herself.
– I love all kinds of trips, on legs and scooters, in a boat or over the mountain, alone or with friends, cohabitants and bonus children. Besides, I am overly fond of coffee, books and travel, Evelina smiles. (She has visited almost 50 countries, has a coffee cup tattoo and loves Harry Potter).
Hiking and nature are high priorities by Evelina. When the northern lights dance over the cabin on Vestpynten, or the scooter crosses the glaciers in the blue hour or midnight sun, then Evelina’s heart skips a beat. And Hiortfjellet, which she sees every day from Longyearbyen, still gives butterflies in her stomach.
– My daily focus is that you as a guest should feel as much for Spitsbergen as I do. You will have a unique experience when you travel with us! I am also a proud Basecamper who loves how we work in line with nature’s premises and use sustainable tourism as a tool for a positive change, says Evelina and concludes:
– Spitsbergen should be on everyone’s bucket list. No matter what time of year; Spistbergen is magic and enchantingly beautiful. Come here and come here again!
