Alicia Lockwood
Alicia was born and raised in Australia, but for the past nine years has lived as far away from the Australian continent as it is possible to get. She has set her heart on the northern part of Norway, and “commutes” between Svalbard and northern Norway.
Alicia has worked with us both at Isfjord Radio Adventure Hotel and Nordenskiöld Lodge. In the summer of 2023, she will welcome guests at Nordenskiöld Lodge, together with Meru, who is an Alaskan Malamute. Alicia and Meru train a lot on polar bear alerting, which is an advantage when they work at Nordenskiöld Lodge, where the King of the Arctic often stops by.
When Alicia is not hosting us in Svalbard, she is studying within psychiatric and disability health. But every now and then she has to take a few months of work at 78 degrees north, because she is passionately in love with the Arctic.
