Gift of the Polar Night

Embark on a drive towards Adventdalen where you will experience what is shrouded in Svalbard’s wintry darkness. Travel away from the city lights and admire a sky that city dwellers never see. Learn more about northern lights and the dark season in Svalbard. Join us to Mount Breinosa and enjoy the view over the landscape so dark, hostile and unforgiving.

Program

Dress warmly for hours outdoors and be ready to meet the guide in your hotel reception at the starting point of the excursion. We set direction towards Adventdalen where you will experience the polar night embrace you. Our transport is by car, and our last stop on the route is our Trapper’s Station. This basecamp is a replica of old trapper’s stations in Svalbard, and it also houses our 100 Alaskan huskies.

We gather by the fire fireplace for storytelling and a warm cup of coffee to warm up our frozen fingers. Before heading back to Longyearbyen, you are welcome to visit the huskies for some hugs and snuggles, their absolute favourite happening of the day.
