Christmas magic in The Arctic

Christmas and New Year in the north – in the dark polar night. Longyearbyen is a warm, different and very pleasant setting for everything we associate with the holidays. Around the city tower the mighty mountains that can be explored under the northern lights. A large number of restaurants of the highest quality offer local produced meals, exciting wine cellars and, not least, good service and atmosphere. Visitors can shop tax free in the shops, and in the dog yard eager huskies are waiting to take you on a sled ride in the arctic nature.

In the middle of the city center is our lavishly decorated Christmas hotel, with lots of candles, a Christmas tree, ice lanterns and Christmas decorations. The interior experts Halvor Bakke and Berit L. Vildalen have again come to Basecamp Hotel this year to ensure Christmas atmosphere in all rooms and nooks and crannies. They have hung up light chains and wreaths with velvet ribbons, decorated the Christmas tree and put out lanterns. The lounge area is a pleasant place to relax with our specially made mulled wine together with good friends or close family.

Christmas or New Years – we are always concerned that you will have some wonderful days with us in the far north. Svalbard during the polar night should be experienced. It is different, and so endlessly filled with good atmosphere and wonderful experiences. Join us under the northern lights.
