Clothing and equipment

Recommended clothing in the Arctic is always a woollen the base layer on the body, with a warm wool or flees sweater as mid-layer before topping it with a set of wind and waterproof jacket and trousers. If you tend to freeze easily, we recommend a pair of warm mid-layer pants and down jacket. A warm hat, buff, steady and waterproof hiking boots, woollen socks, warm mittens wind stopper on top is your key accessories in the Arctic. In the summer the sun shines around the clock and it is smart to bring sun protection and sunglasses. When you explore in Svalbard, we recommend bringing a backpack with space for a drinking bottle, snacks and room for extra layers of clothes.
