Boat trips in Svalbard

A boat safari in Svalbard will bring you closer to nature and to our basecamps located in the heart of the wilderness. We pass cliffs teeming with seabirds, and the occasional little puffin bobbing up and down on the gentle waves. The fulmars will follow your boat, and on lucky days we see a polar bear or whale swimming by. Our passion is to host and guide you to extreme nature experiences and in a safe manner show you the fines places in the Arctic.

Embark on a 2-day adventure through the untamed wilderness of Svalbard. Spend one night in the charming Isfjord Radio Adventure Hotel, situated on the windswept grounds of Kapp Linné. If you are looking for close encounters with arctic nature, bird and wildlife, this is the place to go. Who would have thought it would be possible to run a hotel with all the modern comforts of home in such a remote place?

Spend your days exploring the wilderness together with your Arctic nature guide, and enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by your host when you arrive back at the hotel. Just as the former radio station manager hosted and served the Norewgian polar hero, Fritjof Nansen, Isfjord Radio’s own chef will prepare and serve you a tasty 5-course meal with a touch of local ingredients and unique combinations of flavours. Isfjord Radio is the perfect place to be on the lookout for the “Big Five” of Svalbard. The more time you spend in the Arctic wilderness, the more likely you are to cross walruses, polar bears, the Arctic fox, the Svalbard grouse and the Svalbard reindeer off your bucket list.

Join us on an adventure to Barentsburg. The first impression is of being transported back in time to Soviet Russia; the town centre even features a statue of Lenin. A single road cuts through the small town. Old houses, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, stand on both sides. The facades are a bit crooked and ramshackle. Some houses visibly bear the weight of history. In this place you can smell the past centuries in the air.
