UPDATES ON OUR SAFARI CAMPS

We’ve got some exciting months ahead of us at Saruni Basecamp properties, as almost all our safari camps are undergoing beautiful transformation. Here is a snapshot of what is in the pipeline…

Change in Travel Seasons
Starting January 1st, 2024 our travel seasons will change slightly – March and November have moved to Green Season while June has moved to Mid Season. Our adjusted seasons will now be:

Mid Season: 3rd January – 29th February 2024 and June, October and 1st December to 19th December
Green Season: March, April, May and November 2024
High Season: July, August, and September 2024 and 20th December – 2nd January 2025

Updates on Child Policy (From 2024)
As for our Children’s Policy, children below 5 years will stay free at all our safari camps. The child rate has been extended to cover children aged 5 to 16 years (up from 3 to 12 years) allowing families to enjoy an additional 4 years of child rate use and 2 years of free stays.

Free in-room WiFi
Guests can now access Free Wifi in all the rooms at Basecamp Masai Mara, Eagle View and Leopard Hill. This means there will be no Wifi access at the camps’ lounge areas.

Leopard Hill’s major upgrades
Leopard Hill is temporarily closed for an exciting refurbishment! We are focusing on enhancing the overall guest experience through significant investment in the property’s exterior and interior aesthetics, attention to detail and elevated service. The camp will be bookable on an All Inclusive package, with all services provided by Basecamp.

Eagle View Upgrades
Eagle View will be booked on an All Inclusive package, with all services provided by Basecamp. The dining and lounge areas now have floor-to-ceiling glass doors spanning all along the front to make the most of the dramatic views of Naboisho Conservancy. The renovation within the camp also includes the installation of a full solar power system. With this new addition, we’ll be able to provide our guests with an even more eco-friendly and sustainable experience.

Basecamp Masai Mara upgrades
At Basecamp Masai Mara we are remodeling the bathrooms to ensure all tents have an outside shower. We’re also adding a swing bed to each verandah and replacing the wooden decks’ flooring, while at Basecamp Adventure solar water heaters have been installed, providing 24-hour hot water.

Dorobo Mobile Camp’s new camping location
And for our adventurous guests…you can now redefine your safari experience while on a camping and walking safari. Our Dorobo Mobile Camp can be set up in Naboisho Conservancy or Pardamat Conservation Area, both wildlife-rich areas for you to enjoy the freedom and the exhilaration of walking in the wild while getting closer to nature.

Saruni Wild Expansion
At Saruni Wild, we focus on expanding our facilities to accommodate more guests while still providing the highest level of comfort and luxury. To start with, we will be increasing the size of our Family Tent to include a spacious lounge area where families can gather together and relax. Additionally, we will be expanding our main dining and ‘mess’ area to create more space and elevate the ambiance and dining experience. And that’s not all…we are adding TWO new double tents to our camp, growing our capacity from 8 to 12 guests. We are committed to providing an unforgettable experience for every one of our guests, and these upgrades will help us achieve that goal. Stay tuned for more exciting updates on our progress!

Saruni Rhino expands with NEW Banda
Saruni Rhino is expanding its accommodation with the construction of a fourth Banda or room. During the low season, we have been working hard to upgrade our accommodations and enhance the overall guest experience. Banda Four will be a large double room with the same decor and feel as the existing bandas but with a more spacious living area. It is built very close to the waterhole, offering stunning views of the lugga on both ends of the larger veranda. We can’t wait to welcome our guests to this new addition and provide them with an unforgettable experience at Saruni Rhino! Stay tuned for more news and updates from our camp.
