At Basecamp Masai Mara we have long-standing projects which focus on community development and conservation that has helped us transform the coexistence of wildlife in the greater Masai Mara and the local Maasai community. Activities by the 158 local Maasai women from the Basecamp Maasai Brand have helped them light up their homes while providing food, clothing, healthcare, and education for their children. These activities and more enable us to contribute to eradicating poverty, implement social protection systems, support local community investments, and enterprises, and create jobs for the local Maasai community, key focus areas in the Eco Warrior Awards judging process.
This year’s winners have not only shone a spotlight on their exceptional dedication to sustainable practices but have also exemplified an unwavering commitment to shaping a better future through responsible tourism.
