We are thrilled to share the exciting news that Basecamp Explorer Kenya has received nominations in three categories for The International Ecotourism Society Awards 2023 (TIES). Basecamp has been honored with nominations in the following categories:

- Best Eco-Friendly Company
- Best Ecological Destination
The highly anticipated annual Ecotourism & Sustainable Tourism Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place from September 8th to 11th in Egypt.
Basecamp’s nominations reflect our unwavering commitment to wildlife conservation and community development. Over the years, our efforts have led to a transformation in the coexistence of wildlife within the greater Masai Mara region and the local Maasai community. Furthermore, Basecamp has demonstrated steadfast support for local communities, preserving their culture as a fundamental element in safeguarding the heritage of the land, and ensuring its suitability for both people and wildlife. We take great pride in this recognition.

The International Ecotourism Society (TIES), a non-profit organization active since 1990, has played a pivotal role in promoting sustainable practices and raising global awareness for ecotourism. For three decades, TIES has steadfastly worked to establish principles for the protection and preservation of natural resources, which have been widely adopted and implemented by nations worldwide.
