This safari allows families to discover and experience the wonders that Masai Mara has to offer. Witness the diverse and wildlife-rich natural landscapes of the Masai Mara Reserve and Mara Naboisho Conservancy renowned for their high density of wildlife as your children learn about the wonders of the bush in the comfort of the camp’s environment. There is always a watchful eye of an experienced Maasai guide available, to ensure the children are kept busy and safe, while the parents can relax and enjoy their stay.

Day 1

On arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Kenya, a driver-guide will meet and transfer you to Wilson Airport for a short flight to Masai Mara. At the Masai Mara airstrip, one of our friendly Maasai guides will be waiting to take you on your very first game drive en-route to camp. Enjoy the exceptional wildlife in Masai Mara. Arrive at Basecamp Masai Mara in time for lunch. Whilst the parents are settling in the children can get acquainted with our Young Explorers Club where they will be informed about the fun activities on offer. For a start, the children will be engaged in animal puzzles and board games. Later as a family, head out for an afternoon game drive. As the sun sets, return to camp for dinner followed by story sharing around the fireplace.

After breakfast, the family will join their guide on a camp walk designed to introduce the young explorers to the camp’s surroundings. Children become young conservationists by helping out in planting tree seedlings at the plantation area. Alternatively (at a minimal fee) plant your tree and help us re-wild the Mara. Explore the plantation area, your children will love becoming little explores as they spot some of the 300 bird species that thrive within the Basecamp Masai Mara Forest. Head back to camp for lunch.

The afternoon is spent at leisure. The board games, puzzles, and playing cards all with a safari theme will keep everyone entertained. End your day watching the sunset over Mara plains, with a Basecamp sundowner. After dinner, sit out with the children, look up into the star-studded sky. Your guide is good at spotting the innumerable planets and stars out there! The stargazing experience is normally spectacular from this remote area.
