Join us for this winters first visist to Isfjor Radio to celebrate the return of the sun. Early winter, virgin snow and the awakening of the Svalbard wildlife is a breattaking senery you will never forget.

Try to imagine spending a long winter onboard a ship frozen into the drift ice, in the cold arctic winter, and then feel the sunshine in your face for the first time since the long Polar night. You could enjoy our first trip to visit the ship, to participate in the celebration of the sun returning, together with the crew, who spent the last 2 -3 months awaiting the process of “freezing" the ship into the ice.

When visiting Svalbard we will strongly recommend visiting the one and the only ship, frozen in the ice to serve commercial visitors. And, if you first decided to visit the ship you ought to stay two night to get the filing of living out there in the arctic surroundings.

Now it is possible to follow the footprints of Fritjof Nansen and experience how it is to live on the ice. From mid-February until mid-May, the ship is frozen into the beautiful Tempel Fjord waiting for todays’ adventurers!

This is the expedition for the ones that seeks the ultimate Arctic challenges in the old style, where you will be driving and taking care of your own team of dogs.  

This is a selection of expeditions to the ship in the ice, and to our new Basecamp at Isfjord Radio Station, and you will even find out combination expeditions where you will visit both places in a eventful Svalbard Adventure.

Isfjord Radio, Kapp Linné, Situated on the outermost part of the Isfjord on the beautiful Nordenskiöld coast framed by the majestic Svalbard Mountains and overlooking the open sea, you will discover Isfjord Radio at Kapp Linné. The area surrounding at the radio station has an exceptional animal life and a bird reserve where we find nesting birds right up to the station's walls. Removed from civilisation in Longyearbyen, you will discover a biological diversity and geological conditions which combine to make Isfjord Radio a fascinating place to visit.

If you want to experience more of the tranquility and wildlife at this end of the world, you should spend an extra night, and we guarantee you will not get bored.
