Malin comes from a small town outside Stockholm, Sweden and visited Svalbard for the first time at the end of May 2014. She fell in love with the place and swore that she would one day come back here to work and live.
So after returning from this adventure she decided to make a change in her life and left the restaurant business, where she had been for the past 15 years and moved to Tornedalen in the north of Sweden where she completed a Nature Guide Education.
Her first guiding job was in the Swedish mountains close to Kebnekaise where she worked at an Icelandic Horse guiding company. Riding has always been one of her passions since an early age. She has always enjoyed the great outdoors and is particularly interested in the polar regions.
The dream of coming to Svalbard was on the top of her ”bucket list” and in December 2015 she did just that and joined the Basecamp team to work at Isfjord Radio.
