SVEIN AT TEDX: OUR GRAND PLAN TO SAVE AFRICA’S WILDLIFE

Listen to the story

Kirsi Lounuankoski

Originally Kirsi comes from middle parts of Finland. Before coming to Svalbard, she lived four years in Finnish Lapland in a small place called Äkäslompolo. Kirsi graduated from wilderness guide school in 2012 and ever since she has been working as a guide. For her, nature feels much more like a home than city life. Kirsi spends most of her free time in nature by hiking, skiing, biking or paddling. And if she is not in the Finnish forest or fells, she is exploring new places somewhere around the world. Her desire to explore even wider and see the real north, draw Kirsi to Svalbard. She entered the Arctic Nature Guide School in Longyearbyen and now after graduating, she is keen to explore the guiding work on Svalbard.
