Horseback riding Balade au cheval half day
Join our certified horseback guides on a half day riding tour. Go horse back riding along the winding narrow Pyrenean mountain roads, lush meadows and shaded paths. Feel and trust the movements of the horse, be amazed by its controlled steps and stability. To be on horseback is a charming way of getting around the mountain slopes. Enjoy breathtaking views of both the Mediterranean ocean in the east and Canigou to the the north. The riding trip is tailor made for beginners to more experienced riders, a safety and technical briefing is given before start, professional guiding and small story stops along the way. This horse back riding tour starts from and ends at Can Rigall.

Walks - randonnees

Can Rigall Walk - Le Bel Match 1280m 3 - 4 hours, 600 m, medium
This walk starts from and ends at Can Rigall. It is a medium to rough trek, takes approximately 3 ¡V 4 hours. The walk starts as an educational walk with history & cultural stops along the way, it takes you through the shaded oak and chestnut forests, reaching the Cols de Paracolls view point, where the climb towards the peak starts. A winding, steep but scenic path leads you to the top, enjoy the view of Spain, peak Canigou and the Mediterranean ocean. After a well deserved rest, you walk down towards Can Rigall, following the marked path.


Peak Canigou 2784m (1 night ) 12 hours, 2000 m, medium
The walk up the Canigou is a full day trek. In order to enjoy the walk you should be reeasonably fit. While walking up the mountain slopes, the vegetation will vary from oak and chestnut trees in the valleys, to pine trees and dark, shaded fir forests. Above 2000 m, you will walk through subalpine flower meadows, several of which hosting endemic flowers such as Pyrenees lily and saxofrage. The most common animals to be seen are; lizzards, wild boars, wildcats, otters, several eagles, falcons and if lucky you might see the Lammergeier. There are several different walks up Canigou. This one includes an overnight at a charming mountain lodge, Le Chalet des Cortales, an heberge, situated on 2150 m just below the peak of Canigou. The best time of the year to walk Canigou is late springtime, in order for the snow capped peak to have melted away to make it easier to walk, early summer avoiding the hottest late July and August months and the autumn makes a perfect time with mild temperature still prevails and the clear skies.


Maria Valenta Waterfall Walk 3 hours, 300 m, easy
A history and cultural walk telling the story of Maria Valenta; a young nun who ¡V in a dramatic way - escaped the Spanish soldiers during the Spanish civil war. Learn about fauna and flowers of the area. On the way back, pass by the caves of Abdon & Sennen, the saints whose remains are buried at the monastery of Arles Sur Tech.

Wine tasting ¡V Les feuillants, Ceret or at a local wine farm
We invite you down the old wine cellar at Les Feuillantes or at the local wine farms. Our host will give a small introduction to wine making and wine tasting. Try some of the excellent Roussillon wines of the area, from vin de pays wines to appellation controlle wines, white wines, red wines, and typical sweet wines.
