Dog sledge expedition to Basecamp Isfjord Radio (5 days)

Have you tried dog mushing before? Ready for new challenges? Then this is the trip for you! Here you get a chance to be in charge of your own team of 6-8 Alaskan huskies for a five-day expedition to our remote, but comfortable field station, Isfjord Radio.

The expedition is challenging with 2 nights in tent. You might have blizzard, fog or sunshine for 24 hours. The snow can be wet and heavy and it might get freezing cold. This expedition is not for everyone, it demands a sufficient level of fitness, you must be experienced with dog-mushing and you must be fond of dogs!

Basecamp Isfjord Radio at Cape Linné is situated on the outermost part of the Isfjord on the beautiful Nordenskiöld coast framed by the majestic Svalbard Mountains and overlooking the open sea. The radio station has charming and cosy rooms, a lounge with a fireplace and a unique and extremely interesting history. Until a few years ago, the radio station was an important connection for telecommunication between the mainland Norway and the population of Svalbard.
Removed from civilisation in Longyearbyen, you will discover a biological diversity and geological conditions which combine to make Basecamp Isfjord Radio a fascinating place to visit. You will also be able to see reindeer and Arctic fox, and if you are lucky as well as a glimpse of the King of Arctic, the polar bear! Given the exotic location, you will experience the tranquillity and greatness of the Svalbard nature

The guide is responsible for safety, and decides the route depending on snow and weather conditions.
