Day itinerary as follows:
Day 1: Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi. Short briefing and depart for Samburu and the dry areas north of Mount Kenya and reach Samburu National Park. Arrive for a late lunch. Afternoon game drive, look for the Grevy zebra, the reticulated giraffe, the Gerenuk and the Oryx – all unique to the Samburu National Park. Return to camp before sunset. Dinner & overnight Shaba/Samburu
Day 2: Spend another day in the Samburu Reserve, either with early morning / afternoon game drives or enjoy a full day out with picknic lunch – your choice! Dinner & overnight Shaba /Samburu.
Day 3: Early breakfast, leave the drylands for the more green areas around Mount Kenya. Arrive for lunch. Spend afternoon walking the lush and green slopes of Mount Kenya. Dinner & overnight Mountain Lodge/Mount Kenya
Day 4: Breakfast, travel further south in the Great Rift Valley, and arrive at Lake Nakuru for lunch. Go for an afternoon game drive and look for the many rhinos, see the flamingos strolling the beaches, return to the lodge before sunset, dinner & overnight Lion Hill/Nakuru
Day 5: Depart after breakfast and travel west of the Rift Valley to Masai Mara. Arrive at Basecamp – our own small tented camp beautifully located by the Talek river at the very edge of the savannah. Enjoy lunch in the open air restaurant, relax on your tent terrace, and prepare for a wildlife adventure! Afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara game reserve. Look for lions, elephants and giraffes. Return to camp before sunset, sit by the campfire and listen to the night sounds of the savannah. Dinner & overnight Basecamp Masai Mara
Day 6: Morning tea or coffee, early morning game drive, watch the savannah waking up, return to camp for a full breakfast. Take a guided campwalk, learn more about sustainable tourism, visit the Maasai Arts & Crafts Workshop, and make your own bracelet or simply chill on your own veranda. Lunch and afternoon game drive, sit around the campfire, dinner & overnight Basecamp Masai Mara
Day 7: Early morning game drive, return to camp in time for breakfast
Enjoy a guided tour on foot to Talek, the neighboring Maasai community. Visit the local school, the health dispensary and the tree plantations. Through this excursion you will discover more about the neighborhood and the co-operation with Basecamp Masai Mara and the Talek community. You will also be given an opportunity to sign up for sponsorship to any of our community based projects. Tree planting activities also offered. Check out from your tent and have lunch and prepare for a true bush adventure. Depart for Basecamp Wilderness camp with a game viewing drive on route.
Arrive and check in your cabins.
Dinner and overnight at Basecamp Wilderness
Day 8: Breakfast and then depart for Nairobi. Game drives on route through the reserve. Panoramic views when crossing the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in Nairobi late afternoon for connecting flights or overnight in Nairobi.

Special info
Payments: most lodges take US dollars, Kenyan shillings or cards. For your own personal shopping good to have the local currency though.
Basecamp take Ksh, Us dollars, travellers’s cheques, VISA and MasterCard (NB! 6% additon on credit cards). We advice you to bring Kenyan shillings for shopping & tipping etc.
Radio communication for safety when in the bush walking, first aid kit provided for
Personal equipment: good trekking shoes, a pair of shorts, long trousers and sweater for the evening, extra pair of socks, sun hat, sun lotion, sun glasses, binoculars, torch and a fleece sweater for chilly nights.
Note; Talek school & The Maasai Arts & Crafts not open on Saturdays and Sundays, check with reception if need to change programme!
