More than 550 bird species can be seen in the Mara!
Sunbirds, Flycatchers, Kingfishers and Weavers. All of them resident within the Basecamp compound. The Mara is somewhat of a birdwatcher’s heaven. More than 550 species can be seen in the Mara and more than 200 have been listed in the immediate vicinity of the camp. This is partly due to our treeplanting project that have had a great influence on the biodiversity around the camp. Experience the colourful and fantastic bird-life that surrounds the river Talek. Bring our telescope and be amazed by the variety of species. Bird walks are conducted by specially trained Maasai guides. Bird list and bird books available.
