Mara Walking Trails

6 days walking safari in Mara Naboisho

The savannah is the ultimate safari destination that captures the heart, mind and soul of any traveller. Follow the Mara game trails deeper into the pristine wilderness as you experience and marvel at the nature that surrounds you. Walk on the same path as the elephants and other wildlife, feel the blowing wind as you hear a lion roar in the distance. Your senses will awaken, as the wilderness becomes part of your environment.

Day 1

As you disembark from Ol Seki airstrip, our friendly and knowledgeable Maasai guide is standing by ready to take you on your very first game drive, this will give you a perspective of Naboisho Conservancy and the wildlife you will encounter during your safari walks. Get into our 4 x 4 land cruisers where your adventure commences. Naboisho Conservancy was formed to protect the pristine wildlife area and safeguard the Mara ecosystem while providing a source of livelihood for the Maasai people. During your drive, our guide will point out the wildlife on the vast savannah most of them being the legendary creatures of the conservancy that includes lion, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, and buffalo, among others. Arrive at Wilderness Camp in time for lunch. Wilderness Camp is our secluded and intimate bush camp tucked away deep inside the Saddle Valley, an area with a high concentration of wildlife. After a well-deserved lunch you will be escorted to your tent to allow you to settle into the area and adjust to the pace of safari before your next adventure. At 4:00 pm, meet your guide for an afternoon game drive. Return to camp for dinner followed by relaxation at the campfire as you let the lull of the savannah soothe you.

Day 2

Enjoy an early hearty breakfast before departing on an exciting walking safari accompanied by our skilled Maasai guides. You will begin your journey to our carefully selected campsites inside Naboisho Conservancy the first stop being at Dorobo Mobile Camp. Dorobo Mobile Camp was designed as a result of years of admiration and respect for the hunters-gatherers of the Maasai people, known as the Dorobo. They live off the African savannah, carrying no other protection than their intrinsic understanding of the wilderness. As you walk through the wilderness your guide will inform you more about the big 5 and the small 5 and how to identify their footprints, skulls and dung. After a few hours of walking, enjoy a picnic lunch served under the shade of an acacia tree. Relax for some time before you start your afternoon walk to our unique campsites where specially designed Dorobo mobile tents and a fireplace await you. Enjoy a wholesome in-the-bush dinner, followed by storytelling and star gazing around the fireplace before retiring to your tent for a restful night.
