Start the day with a morning bird walk around camp especially along the Talek river path. The trees and forest surrounding the camp are home to over 300 species of birds including Long-tailed widowbird, Secretary Birds, Crested Cranes, Little Bee-eater, African Wattled Plover, Vultures among others. Your birding adventure will be followed by a leisurely breakfast. After breakfast, our Naturalist Maasai Guide will take you around the Camp to show you how we reuse, recycle and regenerate waste every step of the way making us pioneers of responsible travel. You will also have time to learn about our tree plantation project. End your camp tour with a tree planting session. Head back to camp for lunch. After lunch, you will head out to Talek Centre for a cultural tour. You’ll have the chance to meet local Masai people, witness how they interact on day to day basis. Your guide will also have interesting information about the Masai community that would be great to listen to. This is also a chance for you to visit some of the community projects that Basecamp has been supporting over the years contributing towards improving the livelihoods of the community. Return to camp to gather your things and prepare to continue your journey through the Basecamp Circuit. Your next destination is Wilderness Camp in Mara Naboisho Conservancy. Your transfer will include a game drive en-route. Mara Naboisho is a 50,000 acres large nature conservancy leased directly from more than 500 Maasai families. You are bound to see healthy game animals moving through the plains. The lush green landscapes and floral displays in the conservancy that attracts a large number of plains game. You will arrive at Wilderness Camp in time for dinner. This is an eco-friendly camp located deep in the Saddle Valley and overnight stay.
