Basecamp Explorer (former Ecco Travel Group) was established at the beginning of 1998, and is the parent company of subsidiaries/tourist activities in Norway, Kenya, India and France.

With pride, wisdom and an unbending desire to influence the future of his people, Ole Taek welcomed Basecamp to Masai Mara more than 10 years ago.

Basecamp Foundation is the result of open-minded people coming together across geographical boundaries and cultural differences, formulating an idea and pursuing an ambition: combining two challenging areas, global tourism and local development.
