Elphant project

Dr Joyce Poole has dedicated her life to the study of wild African elephants. Her biography Coming of Age With Elephants is a classic, describing her love and dedication for these magnificent animals.

In 2001 she and her husband, Petter Granli, developed the Savanna Elephant Research Project and www.ElephantVoices.org, presenting decades of research on elephant social behavior and communication online. The ongoing project is based on the world-renowned population of elephants inhabiting Amboseli National Park, Kenya, and is followed with substantial interest from around the globe.
